Lost Along the Way

Lately, and for the life of me I can’t understand why, I have felt that I have become separated from the Lord.  I know it doesn’t have anything to do with Him not caring.  I have stalled in my desire to find my relationship with God.  I have tried to pray through this feeling, but have been unsuccessful in my attempt.

Has any of you ever been in this dilemma?  if so, I’d love to know how I can get back on track.  I miss the closeness that I was feeling with our Lord.  I felt that the Holy Spirit was strong in me for some time but I just feel that all has stopped.

I desperately need help to get through this problem.  Please help if you can……Tell me what you did, if you’ve been where I am now.

Thanks and God Bless……..

  1. When I feel that I'm lacking closeness, I get into the Word, preferably the Psalms, and then I read things like Psalm 100 and rejoice in Him and who He is. I start praising Him and thanking Him for loving me and for all of my blessings (which I try to recall individually), and then I sing praise songs. I find that the Lord inhabits the praises of His people. And I just said a prayer for you that He would draw you close. We enter His gates with Thanksgiving and go into His courts with Praise. I hope this helps...

  2. Mike, this probably sounds goofy, but when I am really struggling with something, I listen to some of my favorite hymns. The words and music have a way of soothing my spirit.

Keep your eye on the goal. I love you both very much, and you are always in my prayers.

  3. You need to pray: "In the name of Jesus Christ in his precious body and blood, I cast out Satan and all of his works." You are being attacked by the enemy. The name of Jesus is stronger. Keep citing it. Then put on the full armour of Christ (Ephesians 6: 10-17). I am praying for you right now Mike. I pray that you will find renewal and joy in your spiritual journey. God bless.

  4. Great advice left here by my sisters in Christ. It really does help me to put my praise music on and sing along with the songs letting my spirit lift as I praise. But if all you can only do is call on the Name of Jesus and say "help me," it will be enough. He will finish the work He began in you and misses you as much as you miss Him!

  5. I agree that music and the Word and prayer are going to be so important to get you back on track. Also, service. Sometimes we take in, take in, take in, that we get glutted and need to give out.

    Praying for you!

  6. I read more of his word, and pray hard as well. Sometimes I will go to the book store and treat myself to a coffee and browse the religious books. Sometime I will just gravitate to one.
I will keep you in my prayers.
    Blessings,
    Ginger

  7. I think this happens to everyone at times. All of the above suggestions are good. I think reading what others have shared for Spiritual Sundays can be helpful as well. Thank you for sharing your heart. I pray God's special blessings in your life.
